Now we can also make searches in the Population Register of Estonia (in Estonian: Rahvastikuregister) which contains digital copies of the newer vital statistic acts (birth, marriage and death acts) starting from 01.07.1926. Nothing suitable came out of with the name forms Helena/Leena Juhanson or Jakob Juhanson or similar. But at last it appeared that her name was also spelled as Helene Johanson (and her patronymic name Mikk was spelled as Mihkel) and his husband’s name as Jakob Johanson. We issue digital copies of their death acts. Helene (Helena/Leena) Johanson (Juhanson) died on 05.01.1979 in Rakvere at the age of 79 (her date of birth is on her death act by mistake 21.01.1899), it is stated that she had lived permanently in Viru-Kabala village, Rägavere selsoviet, Rakvere oblast (the place names may also be not absolutely precise) since 1943 (which is presumably when they moved from Russia to Estonia). Jakob Johanson (Juhanson) died on 22.12.1958 in Aarla village, Kabala selsoviet, Kiviõli district at the age of 60. There was also found the birth act of their (probably youngest) child, Meinhard Juhanson, born 25.05.1944 already in Estonia, Mahu rural municipality, Koogu settlement, Väikerehe (Veikerehe) farm. We attach a copy. There were also found marriage acts of four of their children: Ida (after marriage with the surname Kurling), Jaan (Ivan), Leonhard and Paul (Pavel) – we attach digital copies. They also have children who are alive and Meinhard Juhanson is alive too – if you wish to find their addresses then you can turn to the Estonian Population Register (https://www.siseministeerium.ee/en/population-register). Voldemar Juhanson’s name seems to have been spelled also as Vladimir Jugonson, there was not found any marriage acts about him, only his death act (we attach a copy). Ref.: Digital collection of the Population Register of Estonia (not online) Thereafter there were found some more entries also in the Geni portal – it appears that Helena/Helene/Leena has also another Geni profile with the name form Elena Juhanson: https://www.geni.com/people/Elena-Juhanson/6000000010607379241; her husband Jakob Juhanson: https://www.geni.com/people/Jakob-Juhanson/6000000010607421295, etc. You can contact the administrators (who are probably your relatives too) of these profiles directly via Geni if you wish as well (there is a link on these profiles „Contact ...”). Unfortunately the archives cannot offer a more extensive research but if you wish to order it then we would recommend turning to the Estonian Biographical Center (email: info@isik.ee; http://www.isik.ee/english/index.html) that offers various services on the field of genealogical research (including translation of old documents, help with finding living relatives and burial places, etc). They have also created a free forum where family history researchers help and give advice to each other (http://www.isik.ee/foorum/).
